German OEM VW Group’s decision to enter into a partnership with China’s Xpeng for its VW brand and to extend co-operation between its Audi marque and its Chinese partner Saic has not proven universally popular. Analysts are particularly concerned that the former deal is an admission by VW that its own in-house EV developments are not fit for purpose.
