The facility will include battery making for third parties
Croatian luxury BEV maker Rimac has finished phase one of its new campus and begun production there. The first phase is the new production facility, with phase two concentrated on office space and additional amenities.
The 75,000m2 new plant adds to Rimac’s existing 25,000 m2 production facility located a short distance away. It will be the home of Bugatti Rimac's hyper-car development and of R&D and production for its Rimac Technology arm, which develops components and vehicle systems for third parties.
It will also house vehicle assembly, including of the Nevera and Nevera R, as well as facilities for prototype assembly, composite manufacturing, CNC machining, upholstery, and a paint shop. In addition, the campus “will accommodate three new high-volume battery projects for premium European car makers”.
Total investment into the new facility to-date has been €120mn ($130mn), expected to rise to €300mn+ when phase two is completed. Move-in to the campus started this summer, with 400 of Rimac’s 1,500 Croatian employees now working there.
Once the project is fully completed, the campus will have the capacity to accommodate 2,500 employees.
