Why expensive power could soon accelerate, rather than retard, the US EV adoption divide
Thus far US BEV adoption has largely been strongest in areas that have higher residential power prices. What if that became a feature, not a bug?
The US heavyweight is passing on lower production costs but electric pick-up competition just got hotter
Sales of US OEM Ford’s F-150 Lightning have somewhat underwhelmed since the firm began deliveries at the start of 2022. But it is now hoping that price cuts of up to almost $10,000 of the list price and improved vehicle availability will kickstart growth that has stalled after an initial build-up in sales.
However, US EV pureplay Tesla has finally seen the first of its long-delayed Cybertruck electric pick-up finally roll off the production line. And competition in the space is only going to get hotter with more models on the way.
