No sure delivery bet for Tata's UK gigafactory
The UK's business and trade minister Kemi Badenoch has signed off on government support for the project

A lot is riding on the plan by India's Tata Motors to build the UK’s biggest EV battery plant. The nation’s auto industry needs at least 100GWh of annual production capacity by 2030 to support its transition away from ICEs, but currently has just one so-called gigafactory, a 1.9GWh plant supplying batteries for Nissan’s Leaf EVs in Sunderland.
